Your account's time zone determines when your mailings and scenarios go out. When you schedule a mailing for 9:00 a.m., it goes out at 9:00 a.m. in your account's time zone.
One time zone for the whole account
The time zone applies to your entire account. It's used for:
- your scheduled mailings;
- your recurring mailings;
- your marketing automation scenarios (start and end dates, triggers with a time, such as a contact's birthday).
You can't choose a different time zone for a single mailing. Your account's time zone is shown in the When step of every mailing.
Are your contacts in a different time zone than yours? Choose the send time based on your account's time zone. For example, if your account is on Eastern Time and you want to reach your Vancouver contacts at 9:00 a.m., schedule the mailing for 11:00 a.m. in winter.
Change your account's time zone
- Open the Settings and configurations menu and, under the Account section, click Account information.
- In the Account information tab, go to the Time zone section.
- Choose your time zone from the list.
- Click Save.
Which time zone should I choose?
Choose the time zone that matches the official time where you are.
| If you're in... | Choose |
|---|---|
| British Columbia | (GMT-07:00) British Columbia (Canada) |
| Alberta or the Northwest Territories | (GMT-06:00) Alberta and Northwest Territories (Canada) |
| Manitoba | (GMT-05:00) Manitoba (Canada) |
| Quebec, Ontario | (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) |
| The western, mountain or central United States | (GMT-08:00) Pacific Time (US), (GMT-07:00) Mountain Time (US) or (GMT-06:00) Central Time (US) |
What happens when you change your time zone
| Item | What happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Mailings already scheduled | They go out at the same moment as before. Only the displayed time changes to match the new time zone. | Check the time of your scheduled mailings and adjust it if needed. |
| Existing recurring mailings | They keep the time zone that was in effect when they were created. | Recreate your recurring mailings, or check their send time. |
| Scenarios: start and end dates | They stay at the same moment as before. Only the displayed time changes. | Check these dates and adjust them if needed. |
| Triggers with a time (e.g. birthday at 9:00 a.m.) | They follow the new time zone: 9:00 a.m. stays 9:00 a.m. in your new time zone. | Nothing to do. |
| New mailings | They're scheduled in the new time zone. | Nothing to do. |
Example: your account is on "Mountain Time (US)" and a mailing is scheduled in December at 9:00 a.m. You switch to "Alberta and Northwest Territories (Canada)". The mailing goes out at the same moment, but now shows 10:00 a.m. If you want it to go out at 9:00 a.m., change its time.
Frequently asked questions
My time zone changed without me changing it. Why?
On October 30, 2026, we moved accounts in British Columbia, Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Manitoba that were on the Pacific, Mountain or Central time zones to their new time zone. We also adjusted their mailings and scenarios: they still go out at the time they chose.
My mailing went out an hour early or late.
Check your account's time zone. If it doesn't match your region's time, change it, then check the time of your scheduled mailings and recreate your recurring mailings.
Can I send based on each contact's time zone?
No. All mailings go out based on the account's time zone.
